Two things
1. I'm back from Canada. Photos to come later. Toronto was a cool city. Niagara Falls was awesome.
2. Sean O'Neal of the Onion AV Club writes of having nightmares to this day based on an episode of "Too Close for Comfort" he saw as a kid. That one pretty much takes the cake for banal origins of phobias.

Did you go up the CN tower?
Actually, we didn't. We thought about it, but it never really called to us. I think maybe it was because we were already up fairly high in our hotel as it was, and we had been up in the Stratosphere tower before, and it was 23 bucks each, 28 to get to the really high part, anyway, it just never worked out for us to go. We did more walking around town, driving around town, and hanging out with people and exploring the food choices in the city. Also we saw Iron Man, which rocked.
I've been up in the Stratosphere and up in the CN tower, and I think the CN tower is better. It was funny, it didn't really call to me either but every damn Canadian I worked with was all "you HAVE to do it."
Since I was working right under it, I went ahead and did it -- it was the only thing I had any time for, really, anyway. They were right, it was really cool. That might have just been because I was finally getting a break and a fancy dinner, though.
