Kwan Withdraws from Olympics

This makes me so sad. I want to give her a big hug and say, "We still love you, Michelle!"

Me too. It's been so cool watching her grow up. I think she's just my age or so. I think she made the right decision, but poor girl.

Mom hopes she ends up with some awesome job running the olympics or something.

Maybe she could be like Bob Ctvrtlik and be on the IOC. BTW, remind me to post my rant against the IOC sometime soon.

So much has mentioned about her age, like she's over the hill. But isn't Irina Slutskaya (sp?) even older? That said, I think Kwan's artistry and physicality peaked around 1998. That Olympics long program was a personal best.

I'm rooting for Sasha, but only because she has a true gift. Her attitude has improved marginally since she was a teenager and, talent or not, she still kind of rubs me the wrong way, so I feel uneasy in my support for her. $100 says she stumbles in her long program.

The Hughes sisters, meanwhile, are like elephants on ice. Sorry to sound mean-spirited, but I get no enjoyment in watching them.

I agree with Missy. I actually missed Sarah Hughes' big performance 4 years ago, but her little sister is not that great.

Sasha seems cold to me. She doesn't grab me the way Michelle Kwan or Viktor Petrenko have. Speaking of The Best Guy, did you see that Petrenko was the technical expert on the judges' board last night? I love him.

That French guy Jubert last night looked like a big dork with his James Bond routine. It might have been tolerable without the finger-shooting. As one of the female commentators said, "The choreography is trite."
