So I'm guessing that you get to the spammers/trolls right away and remove them? I'm just worried that it was prompted by the comments (from people I don't know) on your New Orleans post. Cuz those people were exactly right.
Yeah, I periodically fish through and delete spam. I didn't have any troll problems until earlier today on the John Edwards post.
It's a public board and I spread my web address around, so I welcome comments from people I don't know, though I would prefer people use their identities instead of posting anonymously. On the Edwards post I got a commenter who posted twice, anonymously, with content that was just belligerent for no reason.

I would be beligerent for no reason, but I'm tired.
Is there a mode where you can "whitelist" a commenter?
Not to my knowledge.
Well, actually, I think I could set something up where only "members" of the blog could post comments, but I don't think I want to do that.
